It's been over a year since I've blogged at Infinite Thinking.  I've decided to take a different approach to blogging.  Whereas Infinite Thinking post were crafted by to reflect more deeply on more focused topics, these musings will be a compilation of quickly composed thoughts from a variety of conversations related to educational technology.  Some will be vague explorations of an idea that my mind has wandered over to explore.  They might be a cross post of an email or online community response from one of the many conversations from my personal learning network.  Others will be more precise exploration of a topic I've had time to think more deeply about.  Others will be post from respected colleagues in the world of educational technology.

I've decided to adopted the tagline - Precisely Vague.

This tagline has special meaning to me, as it was the name of my children's jazz group during their high school years.  It was a time where they explored and created jazz music with their friends.  I've never let go of this "domain name" even though the band members have moved on to other ventures, because I found it captured a very "creative"  state of mind (or in those days -music).  Enough time has passed that I feel I can put the domain name back in circulation towards another another venture - one that resembles jazz music's spontaneous creativie spirit.

For this venture, I will explore several different topics that I become curious about during my life-long learning journey in the world of educational technology. They will be musings, giving myself permission to post stream of consciousness (somewhat vague ideas)  to more more precise pieces (more thoughtfully deliberate pieces).  I will invite friends and colleagues to join me and also add their musings as post - (similar to the wonderful world of jazz, where improv is so common).

A special thank you to my three very musical children who helped me understand  creativity and the process that is involved when creative individuals take something  as "precise"  as technology  based on concrete bits and bytes and allow "vague" thoughts to flow and grow into an idea or product worth exploring further, and often into something that makes a significant difference in the world -- ranging from a newly composed piece of music  or an exciting learning experience for students of all ages.
