Love Google Apps and wish it had a little more versatility? Come learn how the brand new feature - Google Add-ons and Google Apps Script can bring even more power to Google Apps. We’ll take a look at some favorite Scripts educators are adding to give their Google tools even more power and versatility and explore the new Google Add-On feature. You will learn how to install a script or add-on and how to use it to expand the functionality of Google Apps. This session will focus on using Scripts that are already written. Those interested in getting started writing scripts may attend the “Under the Hood” session.

This session will introduce features of Google tools and ideas of how you can use these tools organized by Common Core Anchor Standards for English Language Arts. Learn how you Google Tools can help students communicate, comprehend, critique, process content, work with complex text and more. Come prepared to join a collaborative process where you can share your own ideas with educators who are shifting instruction with a focus on CCSS college and career readiness.
Who Owns the Learning - ePortfolios with Google Tools (part 1)
Google Tools provide an ecosystem of tools that can support various phases of the ePortfolio process. This session will help you understand the big picture of eportfolios and the process that educators must consider when adopting ePortolios in their schools.
We’ll provide an overview focus on the best tool for different parts of the eportfolio process from curating artifacts, setting and managing learning goals, reflection, to showcasing learning. We’ll include examples, templates, tips, and tricks from real Vermont schools using ePortfolios early elementary, in upper elementary and middle school, in high school, and higher ed. We’ll even include ways educators are using Google tools for their own professional ePortfolios.
Who Owns the Learning - ePortfolios with Google Tools (part 2)
In this session, you’ll get a chance to set up and compare two approaches for creating an ePortfolio. We’ll start with setting up an ePortfolio using a blog (sometimes known as bPortfolios) then move into setting up an ePortfolio using Google Sites. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of each method and offer some tips and tricks that help you decide on the tool that best meets your vision of ePortfolios. This session will focus on the HOW ‘to” parts of ePortfolios, while Part 1 will help you better navigate the process necessary for successful eportfolio adoption.
